Remember the deliciously crispy and umami-rich tempura crackers in wasabi flavour? These here are their counterpart, Mild Salt Seaweed Tempura by Aji Ichiban.
Each piece is about 6 cm x 3 cm with tempura bits sticking to a sheet of seaweed and lightly salted.
These crackers are deliciously rich in umami from the lightly salted seaweed and addictively crunchy from the tempura. While the lightly salted flavour makes these moreish and easier to eat in large servings, I do miss the extra kick that the wasabi flavoured ones flavoured ones added to each bite. Those packed a punch with their flavour.
This package of Mild Salt Seaweed Tempura by Aji Ichiban contained 80 g. It was produced in Japan and gifted by family visiting Hong Kong in 2017.
