With a brand name like Napoleone you’d expect some tie to France, but this Pear Cider by Napoleone has its origins in Australia despite its name and its elegant labeling.
The cider is a translucent pale straw colour with a clean alcoholic nose and moderate carbonation. Served chilled, the flavour of earthy ripe pears in the head develops with an acidity in the body ahead of a dry finish with mellow notes of spice, like ginger. Overall, the cider has round and dry flavour with a distinct lack of sweetness. While it’s dryness is a step up from beer, combined with the spice aftertaste its distinct flavour means it’s not something I’d readily reach for when I’m after a refreshing beverage.
This bottle of Pear Cider by Napoleone contained 330 ml. It was bottled in Australia and purchased in Sydney, Australia in 2017.
