I’m a fan of shaker fries – my favourite are the corn pottage fries at First Kitchen in Japan – and McDonald’s recently came out with these Cheeseburger Shaker Fries.
I didn’t know what to expect from ‘cheeseburger’ flavour, but I was eager to find out.
The seasoning is an off white colour with specks of brown throughout. It smells strongly of the pickles that give cheeseburgers their defining smell.
The pickles, however, do not dominate the taste at all. It’s must like in a cheeseburger: the seasoning is a very pleasant savoury flavour with only a mellow hint of pickles in the background. They add moreish interest to otherwise plain fries and I’d be happy to eat these again — they’re free with a large meal.
These Cheeseburger Shaker Fries appeared on McDonald’s menus in Sydney, Australia during June 2017.
