Every year Hungry Jack’s features an Eggs Benedict Muffin ($2.95) on their breakfast menu for a limited time. The muffin has thinly sliced ham, a fried egg, cheese and hollandaise sauce.
When I think of an eggs benedict muffin, I recall my favourite breakfast item from St Marc’s Cafe Chococro in Japan with its deliciously gooey sunny side up egg, smoky ham, melty cheese and slathering of hollandaise sauce. Unfortunately, the one at Hungry Jacks doesn’t quite measure up with the egg cooked well through and the ham lacking the moreish smoky flavour, while the cheese wasn’t quite melty enough. The hollandaise sauce was rich with a pleasant tang but was poorly distributed throughout the muffin.
Eggs Benedict Muffin appeared on Hungry Jack’s menus in Sydney, Australia during April 2017.
