Teavana Jasmine Tropica

Teavana Jasmine Tropica is my first experience with the brand, which doesn’t have stores in Australia. Some time ago, my late uncle sent over this green tea and green rooibos blend flavoured with strawberry and peach pieces, sunflower and blue mallow petals, orange peels and jasmine blossoms. And to date, it is not only my favourite tea by Teavana, but also a stand out in my vast collection.

Steeping 2.5 grams of loose leaf in 200 ml of 80°C water for 90 seconds yields a pale golden orange liquor that’s crystal clear with a sweet malty aroma. This malty flavour of green rooibos is prominent in the head before the sweeter vegetal notes of the green tea emerges in the body, followed by tropical notes of luscious strawberry then earthy peach before floral notes of jasmine finish the sip. A malty strawberry flavour lingers with a slight astringency in the aftertaste. The sweetness of this tea is subtle and natural, making it a joy to sip as an iced tea on a humid summer’s day.

This bag of Teavana Jasmine Tropica contained 57 g. It was packed in the United States of America and gifted by family in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada in 2011.
